The Portland Climate Action Team and the West End Neighborhood Association are once again sponsoring a Window Dressers Community Workshop this fall to build affordable, efficient window inserts.
Window Dressers is a volunteer-driven non-profit organization dedicated to helping Maine residents reduce heating costs, fossil fuel consumption, and CO-2 emissions by lowering the amount of heat loss through windows. We are now in the process of taking inquiries and orders and have started the measuring process. If you’d like to find out more or wish to place an order, please go to www.windowdressers.org or call 207-596-3073. You may also contact our local coordinator, Elissa Armstrong or 774-1682.
The Portland Workshop will be held at Maine Irish Heritage Center from September 19-26 and purchasers of inserts will have the opportunity to participate in building the inserts. This helps to keep costs low and is also fun. You may also volunteer even if you’re not buying any inserts this year. It’s a great chance to learn more about the Window Dressers project, help your community and make new friends.
We hope that you’ll join in this effort to warm homes, help the environment and build community!
