On Wednesday, October 5, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. the West End and Western Prom Neighborhood Associations are co-sponsoring an informational forum for residents of our neighborhoods on the upcoming November 8 election. The forum will be held at the Reiche Community Room which is upstairs at the Reiche Community Center. Enter from the Clark Street side of the building through the left-hand set of double doors. Take the elevator on your right to the 2nd floor or go through the door to your left to take the stairs. The Community Room is directly off the foyer. Masks are optional.
The forum will be moderated and will feature Ben Grant and Sarah Lentz the At-Large School Board candidates. Of the At-Large City Council candidates Aqeel Mohialdeen will be there, Pious Ali is tentatively scheduled to attend and Richard Ward is unable to make it.
Scott Ferris who submitted one referendum on short term rentals will answer questions prepared in advance by WENA/WPNA. Kate Sykes, representing the Maine Democratic Socialists of America, will respond on the referenda on short term rentals, tenant protections, minimum and
subminimum wage submitted by the DSA. We are hoping to have a representative from the Enough Is Enough group which is opposing the referenda.
As time allows, there will be opportunity for Q/A from the audience.
Since the available space at our venue is limited, we appreciate your understanding our prioritizing attendance for residents of the West End and Western Prom neighborhoods.
