Free Creative Activities for Adults

Current adult activities offered at Reiche Community Room (166 Brackett Street – Upstairs):

  • Crafternoon! (Mondays, 1:15 – 3:15 PM) – You’re invited to bring your own project and come share conversation, inspiration and a hot cup of tea with your West End neighbors. This is an informal activity. No need to register, just show up! Hope to see you there!
  • Games and Fun (Wednesdays, 3:30 – 5:00 PM) – Have Fun, Meet New People, Learn Something Different, all while playing board games from around the world. Discover old and new games from the collections of Jerry LaSala, physics professor at USM, and Damian Walker from the UK (www.cyningstan.com). Over the next few months we’ll also take a spin at word games, cards and other non-electronic fun. Get ready for Hnefetafl, Nine Men’s Morris, Bananagrams, Pick Up Sticks, Mexican Train Dominoes and lots more! All ages and skill levels welcome. Those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Chase the Chill Knitting & Crocheting (Thursdays, 9:30 – 11:00 AM) – Chase the Chill – Portland, Maine, is a fun charity knitting project modeled on the original Chase the Chill started by Susan Huxley in Easton, PA.It is part of a network of Chase the Chill groups active throughout the US and Canada. We create winter items such as hats, scarves, mittens, socks, etc. to give away at outdoor events.We also work on our own projects as well. Bring your yarn, needles and hooks and come join the fun!
